Factions.

A character can only be in ONE faction at a time. Switching factions too often is likely to lead to being banned from joining particular factions. You do not keep your bonuses upon leaving a faction.

Loyalists

Base: Castle Cauchemar

Purpose: The Queen’s Court is the ruling body of The Kingdom of Nod and those who serve them. The Loyalists maintain order– not always in the kindest fashion– and ensure that the status quo remains firmly in place. The Loyalists make up the bulk of strong magic using individuals and, while it is not widely known, or believed by the populace, are ultimately responsible for defending the kingdom.

Contact: Emerys Thedi (andbrainstoo resident), Abd al Qadir (Ephraim Sixpence)

Requirements: While the majority of the Loyalists are made up of those with a villainous disposition not all of the court are considered evil. Members of the Loyalist Faction are considered antagonists for the most part and are expected to be active and help create RP for the community at large.

Perks:

  • Access to a ritual site stationed directly at the center of leylines.

  • Access to rare and unique components. (+10 to Mana, +1 to Magic rolls)

  • Wealth and a measure of privilege not enjoyed by the general populace.

Ranks:

  • Lords and Ladies of the court (Duties are variable and should be worked out in RP, or one’s application)

  • Queen’s Guard (Primary Duties involve protecting the Queen and the Kingdom of Nod)

  • Sheriff of Nod (Primary duty   is law enforcement in and out of the village)

  • Tax collector (Self explanatory)

  • Open to other roles being presented.

How to Join: Either through application, or making IC arrangements to meet with the Queen.

Additional Information: The primary function of this faction is to provide RP for the community

SNARL:

Base: It changes often, depending on available spaces and the topic of their meetings.

Purpose: SNARL - the Society of Nonsensical Animals and Ridiculous Lifeforms. - A Social Club led by the Cheshire Cat, its purposes are enigmatic and incomprehensible. This group exists to promote fun and sometimes silly RP, mostly focused on increasing chaos where there is too much order, punishing those who wrong its members or nature without just cause, and guiding stories along by being the rogue element.

Contact: Kit Caldwell (celestialwreckage)

Requirements:The qualifications for membership are ever changing, as is virtually everything about the Disorganization. However, the ranks are filled primarily with neutral aligned individuals, tricksters, those with animal backgrounds, and the mad. One must be able to recognize when they are taking things too far (to the point their target is no longer enjoying the RP, for instance) and OOC, the appropriate times for bringing our bullshit into play, and when to let an RP remain focused and serious.

Perks:

  • Great and stylish leader and membership.

  • +1d to any non-combat roll that has absolutely no relevance to anything that is currently going on. (3 times a day)

  • Lunch.

Ranks (if any): We all take baths, mostly. Most ranks and titles are made up on the spot.

How to Join: Include it on your application, find Kit IC, or role play putting your request to join in a strange place, then file a ticket on the Discord.

Additional Information: You must remember that consequences are likely to occur for your character (people don’t like being tricked), and you must also remember to keep consistent in your characterization.

United Protectors Of Nod (UPON):

Base: The village as a whole, but most meetings are held at the Tavern.

Purpose: To protect those of the village, to do good when there is opportunity, and to organize the “good guys.”

Contact: (Open)

Requirements: One must live in or near the village, and be relatively good aligned.

Perks: +1 to Body

Ranks (if any):

  • Grand Knight: the leader of UPON

  • Knight: an oathed member of UPON who is proficient in melee, one of their duties is to help educate Pages.

  • Page: an individual who serves a Knight/Healer/Mage in exchange for learning the skills and requirements of advancing into that role.

  • Healers: Healers of the group.

  • Mage: an oathed member of UPON who is proficient in the arcane arts.

How to Join: Swear an Oath IC to the leader of the organization.

Additional Information: This is the “good guy” group and, depending on leadership, may be quite tough on those seen as not behaving in a way fit for a knight of the light. If your character is expelled, remember it is an opportunity for redemption RP.

Player Created Factions: Players are free to create factions of their own. However, they must submit a ticket to the Admins and discuss perks. All Factions must be open to the player base to apply to join.)
