An open letter to Consular Holstein,

Unlike Consular Holstein, I find myself without the burden of a heavy heart, or rather a heart burdened by the thought that any man with any measure of learning, or experience, would extol the virtues of slavery and laud the act of abuse and degradation of those in our care. To suggest, even in the abstract, that I have somehow offended my father's wishes by thought or deed? I meet this with the suggestion that my father knew the mind of his son before granting him eternal life. One might think that, were it otherwise, Lysander, in his wisdom, would either destroy me outright, or remove me from my post. He has done neither.

Regarding the encouragement of our esteemed brother toward harshness with regards to Solomon, I say only this--

"He who does not show mercy to others, will not be shown mercy." - Prophet Muhammad

To call this man, who has, though the course of his career, committed no crime beyond calling for compassion and understanding of the plight of others a rebel shows the fundamental differences between us.

Again, the Prophet tells us "The blame is only against the ones who wrong the people and tyrannize upon the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment."

Islam affirms that Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, created man fully accountable, and enjoined duties upon him, to which reward and punishment are connected on the basis of man’s free will and choice.

No man has the right to restrict this freedom or take away that choice unlawfully; whoever dares to do that is a wrongdoer and oppressor.

We are, in the eyes of the creator, all men, regardless of what we call ourselves.

Rather than engage in casting accusations at my brother, I shall instead say this.

We, of the Americas, are not yours to cajole or control. There is a pride here that is not seen elsewhere in the world. It is a fact of which I am impossibly proud. You call us weak. I suggest that it is, in fact, the very act of weakness that encourages man to cruelty and requires bonds of Iron and Silver to assure his own safety.

Here we do not require martial law to keep order. Here, logical discourse, free of the threat of unjust reaction is the current upon which our faith resides.

Regarding the men and women of the ISF with the Americas, I say this. I would welcome the least of them, regardless of race, at my side in the direst of times. I am proud of their service to my person and to the Regime. Here, rank and privilege has been earned and bestowed upon those who are deserving of such conditions-- regardless of their race.

If being a man of measured means and actions is considered weakness? Then indeed, I am the weakest of men. If having the respect of those who would think to call themselves my peers means engaging in continued acts of terror and oppression? Then I shall proudly bear the weight of being an embarrassment to the world.

I will not say, unlike Europe and Africa, because I do not believe that the people of your domain are responsible. Instead, I shall say that I do not choose to follow your methods, I do not fear my people. I have no need to lock them in Iron and Silver to protect myself. Let Cape Town serve as an example to you of the effectiveness of your tactics. My sacred duty, to my Sire, and to the Regime, is to ensure the prosperity and safety of all supernatural beings. I will not do so with continued oppression of those I proudly fought beside.

May Allah have mercy on your soul, Consular.

Consular Nassir al Qadir
